Commission on Prevention of Youth Violence

  • Mission: To work towards developing processes and programs that will reduce youth violence, reduce drop outs, increase graduation rates and increase community participation in the Commission’s efforts.



WHA Community Campus

  • The Community Campus has been a key source of resources for the surrounding community and a hub for student service learning, internships and volunteer experiences.
  • The partnership between UNCW and WHA is continuously growing.  UNCW faculty, staff and students are a visible presence in the community and are working side by side with WHA residents and employees to build the partnership into a lasting and sustainable collaboration.



WHA Youth Build

  • YouthBuild offers a bi-weekly stipend, education, construction training, leadership development and counseling while constructing and rehabbing homes in our community
